A 32-year-old Lewisville man who fatally shot his wife in front of their three children before shooting himself has died, police confirmed.
Daryl Stegall went to 30-year-old Kishana Jeffers’ apartment on Thanksgiving morning and began to pound on her door. When she didn’t answer, Capt. Dan Rochelle of the Lewisville Police Department said, Stegall beat down the door, got inside the apartment and shot Jeffers.
Their three children, all under the age of 9, were witnesses to the shooting, police said.
Rochelle said Stegall went into the breezeway afterward and shot himself. Medical personnel took him to the hospital where he underwent surgery.
He died on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., Rochelle said.
Jeffers and her children lived at the Colonial Village at Oak Bend apartment complex. Stegall did not live with them, Rochelle said.
Friends of Jeffers’ created a GoFundMe account to support her three children. You can find it here.
