Grapevine’s newest multipurpose concrete Links Trail is dedicated

The opening last week of Links Trail brings the city’s total trail mileage to 40.20 miles.

On Thursday, Grapevine hosted a ribbon cutting for the Links Trail Dedication in honor of the new trail’s grand opening.

The event was held at the trail head located on Highway 26 and Fairway Drive.

“This trail was the key linkage to the missing connector between two distinct and popular areas, Historic Downtown Grapevine and Grapevine Mills,” said Kevin Mitchell, director, parks and recreation. “The trail runs along Highway 26 from Ruth Wall Road to the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center.”

The trail is constructed of concrete, which is normally referenced as a hard surface trail versus a soft surface trail that is typically made up of dirt or decomposed gravel.

The Links Trail stats include a linear length of 9,449 feet or 1.79 miles.

Residents and visitors alike will experience the multi-purpose advantages when using the trail. Runners, walkers, strollers, dog walkers and bike riders are all welcome and will find the trail will suit their recreational and outdoor needs.
