23-year-old motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle wreck near Texas 114 in Grapevine

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash near Texas 114 in Grapevine, police said.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash that killed the 23-year-old man.

Authorities have not released the name of the man as of Thursday.

Grapevine police responded to the scene about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday after a motorist reported he was driving westbound on Texas 114 and Texan Trail when he spotted a motorcycle in the grass. He stopped, checked on the motorcyclist and called 911.

Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

Grapevine police noted skid marks on the road leading to the curb where the motorcyclist crashed. Police also said there was a downed highway sign in the area.
