A driver who Hurst police say may have had a medical condition struck the side of a Hurst first station Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident.
A driver possibly suffering a medical emergency crashed into a main electricity feeder pole and came to rest across the street at the No. 1 Hurst Fire House in Hurst on Tuesday. The accident downed one pole and damaged three others along Precinct Line. The emergency power generator and switch was damaged at the fire house. It also broke water pipes and flooded the building. The wreck also has caused a major power outage in the area, which was expected to take several hours to repair, Hurst police said Tuesday afternoon. Oncor representatives on site said it might take until Tuesday night or Wednesday morning to complete the repairs.
The condition of the driver was not available.
No one else was injured in the crash, which was reported just before 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cannon Drive and Precinct Line Road in Hurst.
Hurst police were responding to the scene when they learned a work truck had hit the side of Hurst Fire Station Number 1, at 2100 Precinct Line Road.
