Latest Colleyville road project to improve stretch of Glade Road for about $15 million
The road work will continue in Colleyville with another two-year project set to begin this summer.
Glade Road will be reconstructed between State Highway 26 (which has been undergoing construction of its own) and Pool Road. The project will include adding left turn pockets throughout the corridor and installing underground storm sewers to improve drainage.
Folks in the area have already begun experiencing the first signs of the project as work crews have been relocating franchise utilities such as gas lines, fiber optics cables and power lines. This work will continue through May, and once utility relocation wraps up, road work will begin and is expected to last 18-24 months.
A bid award for the project is expected to be announced at the April 7 city council meeting.
The current estimate for the entire project is $15 million, Colleyville Assistant City Manager Mark Wood said.
Wood said the city received a grant for the Bluebonnet Road intersection portion of the project of approximately $2 million.
Wood said the Glade Road project includes also includes sidewalks/trails, a traffic circle at Riverwalk and the lowering of Bluebonnet Drive.
“These improvements will ensure Glade Road remains in excellent condition for many years to come,” he said.
