Dallas man identified as pedestrian killed after being hit by car on Bedford highway

A Dallas man has been identified as the victim in a fatal accident early Saturday in Bedford where a vehicle hit a pedestrian.

The victim was Sterling R. E. Havens, 21, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Monday. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.

Havens died early Saturday at a Grapevine hospital shortly after the incident.

Bedford patrol officers responded to the accident shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of Texas 183.

Officers arrived on the scene and found a man later identified as Sterling Havens injured and unresponsive on the highway.

Bedford police did not release any other details on the incident.
