The body of a 62-year-old Fort Worth man was recovered from Benbrook Lake on Monday morning, officials said.

Texas Game Wardens and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recovered the man’s body about 9:30 a.m. He was identified as Freddy Ferrer Bracamonte, officials said in a news release.

Texas Game Wardens responded to the report of a possible water fatality about 6 p.m. on Sunday after witnesses reported that a man went underwater in a designated swimming area near Mustang Park and did not resurface, officials said.

The search was suspended on Sunday night about 9:30 p.m. and resumed Monday morning with assistance from Tarrant County firefighters and Fort Worth Fire Department and Dive Team, according to the release.

“Our thoughts are with Mr. Ferrer’s family and friends during this difficult time,” Texas Parks and Wildlife officials said in the release.
