Two people, including a child, killed in Colleyville house fire on Saturday
Two people, including a child, were killed in a house fire in Colleyville on Saturday, April 25, officials said.
Colleyville firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at a home in the 4700 block of Bill Simons Drive on Saturday night, the fire department said in a news release on Tuesday.
When firefighters arrived they saw heavy smoke coming from the home. Crews began fighting the fire and searching for two children reported to be inside the house, officials said.
Two adults had exited the home before firefighters arrived, but one went back inside, officials said.
Firefighters rescued one adult and two children from the home. All three patients received life-saving treatment at the scene from paramedics before being taken to the hospital, according to the fire department.
Despite life-saving efforts, one adult and one child died at the hospital, officials said. Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the people who died.
The fire was brought under control and the crew remained on the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire, officials said. The investigation is ongoing.
