Two people were killed in a house fire Saturday in Colleyville as subfreezing temperatures gripped North Texas, city officials said.

Firefighters responded to the 2-alarm structure fire in the 3600 block of Sweetbriar Lane at around 10 a.m., according to a post on the department’s Facebook.

When crews arrived, they found heavy fire and were notified that two people had not exited the home, officials said. Two people had already exited with minor injuries; one was taken to a local hospital.

Firefighters searched for the two remaining occupants while battling the blaze, according to the post. The occupants were found and confirmed to be dead once the fire had been extinguished.

No firefighters were injured; the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. The identities of the dead have not been released.
