Roof partially collapses during Bedford apartment fire; 12 units damaged
The roof of a Bedford apartment building partially collapsed after a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Firefighters responded about 2 p.m. to the apartment complex at 1616 Oak Creek Lane, Bedford Fire Department officials told the Star-Telegram.
A video taken from a WFAA-TV helicopter shows that the second floor of the apartment building had the most damages, WFAA reported.
Residents in about 12 apartment units were displaced as a result of the fire, a city official said.
The American Red Cross and Bedford Animal Services responded to the scene to help displaced people and animals. No injuries to people or pets were reported.
Firefighters from neighboring cities such as Euless, Hurst, Colleyville, Southlake and Grapevine helped to put out the fire, officials said.
