16-year-old killed in traffic crash along U.S. Highway 287: Grand Prairie police

A 16-year-old girl was killed in a traffic crash along U.S. Highway 287 in Grand Prairie on Wednesday, according to a police statement and medical examiner’s records.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Jalalat Honesty, according to online records.

At about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, a Toyota was traveling north along U.S. 287 and the driver tried to turn left onto Prairie Ridge Boulevard, police said.

The car collided with a Ford truck that was traveling in the opposite direction, according to a police news release.

The driver of the Ford and both occupants of the Toyota were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said. Honesty, was a passenger in the Toyota, died at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.

No one is expected to be charged in connection with the crash, which remains under investigation, police said.
