A 43-year-old North Texas man died Monday afternoon after a vehicle he was repairing fell off the jack and onto him.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Daniel Lord, who was working at his auto shop where he built custom cars in the 4300 block of Eden Road in Kennedale.

The Kennedale Fire Department attempted lifesaving measures, but Lord succumbed to his injuries, authorities said in a news release.

Following standard protocol, the Kennedale Police Department and the Medical Examiner's Office are conducting an investigation.

“Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim,” Kennedale Police Chief Mike Holguin said in a statement.
