All westbound lanes of Texas 183 near Dallas-Fort Worth Airport were closed for hours Thursday morning after a non-fatal car crash, Irving police said.

Officers were called to State Highway 183 near Esters Road about 12:50 a.m. for a single-vehicle accident near the south entrance of DFW Airport, WFAA-TV reported.

The driver was injured and taken to a hospital in stable condition, WFAA reported.

Authorities closed all westbound lanes beginning at Belt Line Road, according to an Irving Police Department Facebook post. The lanes remained closed through rush hour, and officials asked drivers to avoid the road and find another route.

The traffic backed up to North MacArthur Blvd this morning, WFAA-TV reported. The lanes reopened about 9 a.m.
