Major crash kills one, shuts down all lanes of northbound I-35W in Denton County

One person died and six others were injured in a major accident that closed all lanes of northbound Interstate 35 West near Argyle on Tuesday afternoon, Denton police said.

The crash in Denton County involved six vehicles and an RV, according to a post on the Denton Police Department’s Facebook. Images from the fatal accident scene showed the RV overturned.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the person who died.

As of 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, traffic on the highway was backed up to the FM 407 exit and was expected to be stopped for “at least several hours,” Argyle police said. All lanes had reopened by 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Vehicles were being diverted off the highway at the Robson Ranch Road and Crawford Road exit, Argyle police said.
