A 12-year-old riding her bike was killed after a crash with a pickup truck Thursday morning, the Southlake Police Department said in a news release.

At around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Southlake police and fire crews responded to the 100 block of Davis Boulevard about a major accident involving a white Chevy pickup truck and a 12-year-old girl riding a bicycle.

The truck was traveling northbound on Davis Boulevard, while the girl was riding her bike on the sidewalk adjacent to the street, according to witness reports.

When the truck turned onto a private driveway on Davis Boulevard, the girl and the truck collided, according to the release.

The 12-year-old was taken in critical condition to a hospital in Grapevine, where she was later pronounced dead, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as Victoria Dai, of Southlake.
