Police are investigating fatal single-vehicle crash in Grand Prairie on Interstate 30

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal accident on Interstate Highway 30 that left one person dead, authorities announced in a news release on Saturday.

At around 4:10 a.m Saturday, a Chevrolet pickup truck towing a utility trailer was traveling east when it crashed into a TEXpress lane attenuator — a safety device used to mitigate damage to vehicles when leaving a roadway — in the 1900 block of Interstate Highway 30, according to police.

The driver — the only person in the pickup truck — was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. Their identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
