The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a driver who fatally hit a bicyclist on early Friday morning and left the scene.

At about 5:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a call for service in the 7900 block of Scyene Rd.

The preliminary investigation, which included footage obtained by police, determined the vehicle hit a victim who was riding a bicycle.

The suspect left the location.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and died from their injuries, according to police.

The police say the vehicle is a black 2000 to 2006 GMC Yukon/Denali SUV with bright blue-colored headlights, black wheels, and a chrome front bumper. It is missing the front GMC grill and the lower part of the front bumper.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact Vehicle Crimes Unit Detective R. Rodriguez at 214-671-0011 or at ricardo.rodriguez2@dallaspolice.gov.
