Transformer fire knocks out power to more than 8,000 customers in Grapevine
A large transformer fire in Grapevine Friday afternoon has knocked out power to more than 8,000 customer in several neighborhoods, according to Grapevine fire department and Oncor officials.
No injuries have been reported.
The fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of William D. Tate Ave. in Grapevine.
A large transformer burned behind Uncle Julio’s at an Oncor power station.
Grapevine firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
Power is expected to be restored by 5:30 p.m., according to Oncor officials.
