Man suffers gunshot wounds in possibly narcotics-related shooting, Bedford police say

A man underwent surgery after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds Friday evening in a shooting in Bedford possibly related to narcotics, police said.

Two people were reportedly arrested on narcotics-related offenses after the shooting. Charges related to the shooting “could come at a later time,” according to Lt. Mike Hager.

An update on the man’s condition wasn’t available Saturday.

Bedford officers were dispatched around 5:45 p.m. Friday to a report of shots fired in the 1400 block of Tennis Drive, police said. At some point later in the evening, as the officers were investigating the shooting, they were contacted by two individuals whom police said were somehow involved in the incident. They said they believed someone was dead inside an apartment.

Officers went into the apartment and found the victim alive with gunshot wounds, police said. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, where he underwent surgery.
