1 man killed, another injured in shooting near AT&T Stadium in Arlington, police say
A 24-year-old Louisiana man was killed and another man was injured when they were shot Friday night near AT&T Stadium in Arlington, authorities said.
The men were taken in a private vehicle to Arlington Memorial Hospital a short time after gunfire was reported on Greystoke Drive.
Christopher Williams, of Shreveport, was pronounced dead, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said. The other victim, whose name police did not release, was taken in a helicopter to a hospital in Fort Worth. His condition was unknown late Friday, Arlington police said.
The relationship between the men and the shooting’s motive was not known, but police said they had not ruled out the possibility that the incident was related to drugs.
A short time before the men arrived at Arlington Memorial Hospital, officers were dispatched about 9 p.m. to the report of multiple gunshots heard at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Greystoke Drive near the stadium, police said. They reportedly found blood at the scene consistent with a shooting.
The department asked anyone with information on the shooting to call homicide Det. Simmons at 817-459-5735 or the Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS, where they can remain anonymous.
