Driver killed in Grand Prairie when Lamborghini slams into guardrail, DPS says
A person driving a Lamborghini on the President George Bush Turnpike in Grand Prairie was killed Friday night when the vehicle slammed into a guardrail, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, died on the scene, DPS said. A passenger suffered serious injuries and was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched around 11 p.m. Friday to the scene of the crash on the PGBT near Arkansas Lane, DPS said. A preliminary investigation reportedly indicated the Lamborghini was traveling northbound on the PGBT when, for an unknown reason, the driver lost control and struck a guardrail.
DPS is trying to determine what led to the crash.
Northbound lanes of PGBT near the crash site remained closed as of 11 a.m. Saturday.
