Grand Prairie couple among 7 killed in bus crash in Belize, according to news reports
A Grand Prairie couple and another American were among seven people killed Wednesday in a tour bus accident in Belize, according to the State Department and news reports.
Adrian Armijo and his wife, Sara, died in the accident, according to the Daily Mail. Their 27-year-old son, David Armijo, was injured in the crash.
The other American killed has been identified as 53-year-old Jacqueline Abad.
Four people from Belize also died in the head-on collision Wednesday afternoon.
Seven people were injured in the traffic accident.
Officials with Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that seven guests on the Carnival Vista were in the bus accident while on an independent tour in the Central American country. Guests from at least one other cruise line were on the bus, according to ABC News.
An SUV was trying to pass a car when it veered into the tour bus, according to news reports.
