‘Mystery woman’ who asked for help on video in Wise County found safe
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office has found a “mystery woman” who was seen asking for help on a home security camera and determined she is “safe and sound,” authorities said Friday.
When the incident was first reported Tuesday, deputies believed the person seen on the surveillance video in the Indian Trails Subdivision might have been a teenager. In the video, the woman says she’s “really scared” and asks the homeowner to please open the gate.
On Friday morning, a 36-year-old woman called the Sheriff’s Office and said she was the person on the video. Deputies met with the woman and verified her statement and that she was safe.
Authorities have not released the woman’s name or said why she was asking for help.
“The concern for this person’s welfare by the citizens is greatly appreciated,” the Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page.
