Woman killed while crossing Interstate 35W in Burleson identified
A woman killed after being hit by several cars while crossing an interstate in Burleson was identified Friday.
Star Byrd, 39, died while trying to cross I-35W southbound on foot early Thursday morning. She had been staying at the Days Inn along the interstate.
Police said Byrd may have had drugs or alcohol in her system. She also may have been dealing with mental health issues.
The interstate was closed until about 11:45 a.m. Thursday while investigators were on scene.
