Part of Interstate 20 in Arlington is shut down Thursday morning due to a fatal crash, officials said.

All westbound lanes are closed at Cooper Street, the Texas Department of Transportation posted on social media at 4:45 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to look for another route.

The fatal crash involved a pedestrian, police at the scene told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV.

It’s unclear how long the highway will remain closed.
