Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in Arlington early Wednesday, officials said.

The crash took place about 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of I-20 near the Texas 360 interchange, according to police. The driver of a 2025 Hyundai Genesis fell asleep at the wheel and hit a police vehicle parked in a construction zone. The Hyundai then struck another car, which caused a chain reaction that involved a third vehicle.

The roadway was closed for a time while officials cleared the accident. Several people reported injuries, police said, but none are considered life-threatening.

The Hyundai’s driver was cited for failure to control speed, according to police. It’s not clear if additional charges will be forthcoming.
