2 adults, 1 child killed in apparent street-racing crash at North Texas intersection
Police are investigating an apparent street-racing crash that killed two women and a boy and injured another boy at a Duncanville intersection Monday night.
Officers were dispatched to the major accident at the intersection of West Wheatland Road and South Cedar Ridge Drive about 8:45 p.m., the department said on Facebook. A preliminary investigation shows that a white Chrysler 300 was racing another vehicle and struck a gray Toyota Corolla. The Corolla was not involved in the race.
“Based on evidence collected at the scene and statements from multiple witnesses, investigators have determined that the crash was likely the result of an illegal street racing incident involving two vehicles,” police said in an updated post Tuesday.
Two women in the Corolla died at the scene. Two boys, also passengers in the Corolla, were injured and taken to local hospitals. One of the juvenile victims later died, according to police, and the other remains in critical but stable condition.
Authorities haven’t released the names and ages of the people who died. The driver of the Chrysler 300 wasn’t seriously injured, according to the post.
