Two Arlington restaurants fail latest city health inspections
Two Arlington restaurants failed inspection and two others had low scores in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection reports.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data and violations from Nov. 16 through Nov. 29 and the results of 118 inspections.
Arlington’s restaurant inspections operate on a 100-point system: A score of 100 is considered to be perfect and a score of 70 is considered to be extremely poor.
Incredible Burger, located at 3811 South Cooper St., had a score of 67. Multiple physical facilities at the restaurant were in need of repair, and investigators noted problems with proper food holding temperatures, a city official said. The restaurant also had issues with improper food storage leading to cross-contamination. Many of the critical violations were noted to have been corrected during a follow-up inspection.
JTC Bless Import, located at 3310 South Watson Road, had a score of 68. Inspectors noted problems with food holding temperatures, cooling procedures, and sanitation deficiencies, a city official said. The restaurant is set to be reinspected at a later date.
Thi Nguyen Cafe, located at 100 West Pioneer Parkway, had a score of 68. Equipment at the restaurant needed cleaning or replacement and there was evidence of pest contamination, city officials said. Many of the critical violations had been corrected at the time of a follow-up inspection on Dec. 2.
El Ranchito-Arlington, located at 3517 South Cooper St., had a score of 75. Inspectors noted issues with cold holding temperatures, unsanitary food contact surfaces and sanitation deficiencies such as the absence of hand soap, city officials said. The restaurant corrected many critical violations by the time of a follow-up inspection on Nov. 25.
