A 28-year-old Fort Worth man has died in the hospital after his motorcycle hit two pickups on Interstate 20 in Arlington earlier this month, police said Tuesday.

Christopher Andrew Herrera was taken to Medical Center of Arlington following the Aug. 5 accident in the 3500 block of I-20 near New York Avenue. He was wearing a helmet, according to police.

Herrera was headed eastbound in the far-right lane shortly before 7 a.m. Investigators believe he was speeding and made an unsafe lane change. His motorcycle struck a Chevrolet Silverado on the front right and then hit another Silverado from behind.

The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike, according to police. No one else was injured in the crash, and no charges have been filed.
