‘Hardworking, kind and loving’: Family, friends of Arlington crash victim speak out
Tyler White, who died in a car wreck near Division Street in Arlington Dec. 14, was the father of three kids, his wife Breya told WFAA-TV.
White, 31, was helping a friend’s wife with car trouble and trying to attach a tow cable when he and the woman were struck at a high rate of speed by a BMW SUV, according to Arlington police.
“Tyler was a kind, hardworking, and loving person whose warmth touched everyone he met,” friends of the family wrote on a GoFundMe page. “His passing leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him.”
Breya White was in the couple’s vehicle, which was also struck at the time of the crash on North Watson Road.
“I just regret not saying nothing, not speaking up, saying let’s get the car in the morning cause I worked in news. I know,” Breya told WFAA, the TV station where she used to work. “I have to raise three kids by myself.”
The couple’s friend, a 42-year-old woman who was also struck by the SUV, was hospitalized in critical condition.
The 31-year-old driver of the SUV who hit White and the woman also remains in critical condition, and police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Tyler White worked as an airplane mechanic. His wife’s coworkers at SMU started the GoFundMe.
