Two people were injured, three were arrested and one suspect is unidentified following two related shootings early Sunday in Arlington, police said.

Officers responded to the first shooting at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Deer Creek Drive at around 1:35 a.m., according to a police statement.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a 32-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the arm, police said. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman’s boyfriend told police that a group of men knocked on their door looking for someone who did not live at the residence, according to the statement.

The victim’s boyfriend and the suspects began arguing, and at one point the boyfriend retrieved a bat and told the suspects to leave, police said.

At least one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and began shooting in the direction of the apartment before fleeing the scene in a Honda Civic, police said.

The woman was struck, the boyfriend was not injured, and the couple’s dog was grazed by a bullet but is expected to recover, according to the statement.

Officers responded to the second incident in a parking lot in the 4900 block of Little Road at around 3 a.m., according to the statement.

Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound inside a parked vehicle, police said.

The man was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

A woman who was with the injured man told police that as they were getting into their vehicle, a car believed to be the same vehicle from the Deer Creek Drive incident, blocked them in, police said.

Four suspects exited that vehicle and approached the couple, with one suspect pointing a gun at the couple and telling them to get out of the vehicle, police said.

The suspects then fired into the vehicle, striking the man, according to the statement. The woman was not injured.

Using surveillance footage, officers identified the Honda Civic and learned that it had been stolen out of Dallas, police said.

At around 5 a.m. Sunday, officers located the Honda being followed by a second vehicle, a Lincoln Town Car, along Parkway Lane, just north of E. Pioneer Parkway. Officers attempted to stop the Honda, but the driver sped off, police said.

The driver of the Lincoln stopped, and officers determined that the individuals inside were affiliated with the suspects in the Honda, according to the statement.

The two occupants of the Lincoln, a teenage male and 20-year-old Humberto Barajas, were arrested.

Barajas was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery, police said.

The teenager, who police did not identify because he is a juvenile, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery. He will be transported to the Tarrant County Juvenile Justice Center.

Officers later located the Honda Civic crashed in the 2100 block of Browning Drive and arrested the individual believed to have been inside, 17-year-old Angel Barajas.

Barajas was booked into the Arlington City Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of aggravated robbery, and one count of evading, according to police.

A fourth suspect remains at-large and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
