Hurst man killed when his motorcycle crashes into SUV stopped on Texas 360 in Arlington

A Hurst man died Sunday afternoon from injuries he suffered when he was thrown off his motorcycle after crashing into the back of a sport utility vehicle on Texas 360 in Arlington, authorities said Monday.

The motorcycle rear-ended the SUV, which had stopped in the center lane of the highway because of heavy traffic on Texas 360, Arlington police said in a news release.

The man who died has been identified as Luke McCullough, 26, of Hurst, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Monday.

The SUV driver was not injured, and Arlington police said no criminal charges are expected to be filed.

The fatal accident was reported just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of Texas 360 near Abram Street in Arlington.

Investigators determined that once the motorcycle crashed into the SUV, the motorcyclist was thrown onto the highway. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Witnesses told Arlington police the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and changing lanes aggressively just before the wreck, according to the release.
