Woman found dead in Arlington residence, police say; family member suspected of murder

A woman was found dead inside of an Arlington residence on Thursday night, and a family member is suspected of killing her, police said.

The woman’s identity wasn’t released as of around noon Friday.

Detectives are working to secure an arrest warrant for the family member on a murder charge, police said.

Officers were dispatched around 7:40 p.m. Thursday to conduct a welfare check at a residence in the 6200 block of August Run Lane, the department said in a news release. The caller stated there may be a dead woman at the location.

The officers forced entry into the residence, police said, and found a woman who was pronounced dead.

Police didn’t say how the woman appeared to have died or how long she had been dead inside the residence.

Based on the tip from the caller, investigators say a family member is suspected in the death.

Police are working to extradite the suspect back to Tarrant County, the department said. It’s unclear where the suspect has been.

Police plan to release more information on the suspect when an arrest is made.
