Dallas County COVID cases have lowered dramatically past 2 weeks; deaths remain steady

Dallas County reported 247 coronavirus cases and one death on Sunday.

Of Sunday’s cases, 125 were previously unreported from Texas’ Department of State Health Services electronic data reporting system, including 90 from September, 32 from August, and three from July.

The death reported Sunday is an Irving man in his 70s who had underlying health conditions.

Dallas County has confirmed 73,700 COVID-19 cases, including 945 deaths. The county does not report recoveries. The county is reporting 3,158 probable cases, including 10 probable deaths.

Over the past two weeks, Dallas County’s average daily coronavirus cases has been 306, even including unreported cases added from previous months from the state’s data system. The county has averaged more than six deaths a day in that span. The two weeks prior, the county was averaging 1,053 cases and more than seven deaths a day.
