Dallas County surpasses 73,000 COVID-19 cases, adds 9 more deaths

Dallas County reported nine coronavirus deaths and 195 cases on Friday.

Of Friday’s cases, 89 were unreported from earlier in the pandemic, including 56 from August, 28 in July, three in September, and two in June. The Texas’ Department of State Health Services discovered an error in its data reporting system in early August and has been working to add unreported cases since.

The latest deaths include three in their 50s, two in their 60s, two in their 80s, and two in their 90s.

The deaths include an Irving man in his 50s, a Grand Prairie man and woman in their 50s, a Sachse man in his 60s, a Dallas man in his 60s, an Irving man in his 80s, a Dallas man in his 80s who was a resident of a long-term care facility, a Dallas man in his 90s, and a Rowlett man in his 90s who was in a long-term care facility.

Dallas County has confirmed 73,055 COVID-19 cases, including 943 deaths. The county does not report recoveries.
