A new ice cream parlor from India is coming soon to Alliance
With the Texas heat, there can never be enough frozen treats. Luckily, the Alliance neighborhood in Fort Worth is getting another ice cream shop.
Dumont Ice Cream and Creamery plans to open off North Freeway in Fort Worth, according to state filing documents. This ice cream brand already has locations in Southlake, Coppell, Plano and Frisco and is now making its debut in Cowtown.
Dumont ice cream began in India and is now one of that country’s largest ice cream manufacturers. The shop has grown to stores in six U.S. states, but got its American start in Little Elm near Frisco in 2023.
What makes Indian style ice cream different from American style ice cream?
It’s not that different from American ice cream, other than the fact that there may be some global-inspired flavor choices. They offer a rotating menu of 250 flavors.
For those who want to try something other than the typical cookies and cream or mint chocolate chip, Dumont offers flavors like kheer, a traditional Indian spiced rice pudding with nuts, or an Italian-inspired mint basil sorbet.
What makes them so successful is their locally-sourced and daily, fresh-made batches of ice cream.
Where will Dumont Ice Cream and Creamery open in Fort Worth?
Dumont Ice Cream and Creamery will open at 9833 North Freeway, Suite 161 in Fort Worth.
This will be a building over from Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, off of westbound Interstate 35.
Boston-based ice cream shop Scoop and Scootery also recently opened in the Alliance area. Scoop and Scootery features decadent ice cream sundaes topped with candies, cereals or salty snacks and piles of their homemade whipped cream.
When will the new Dumont ice cream shop open in Alliance?
According to state filing documents, construction on the new space will wrap up by September.
An official opening timeline has not been released. Dumont Ice Cream has not responded to requests for comment from the Star-Telegram.
