Airbnb could pay you to list your Tarrant County home during the World Cup

The mania for finding FIFA World Cup tickets and accommodations continues.

The Dallas-Fort Worth area will be busy during the tournament this summer. AT&T Stadium will host nine tournament matches — five in the group stage, which begins on June 14 in Arlington, and four in the knockout round, including a semifinal July 14.

Data shows an 80 percent surge in demand for accommodations in FIFA host cities. Most hotels in the Arlington area are already sold out. The Motel 6 in Arlington’s Entertainment District is offering rooms for more than $500 a night during the month-long period.

As a result, Airbnb is giving Tarrant County residents a solution: the short-term rental service will offer incentives to Tarrant County residents who put their home up for rent with the service during the World Cup.

How much money can Airbnb hosts make during the FIFA World Cup?

Airbnb is offering residents in FIFA host cities an incentive of $750 for signing up and hosting.

Dallas-Fort Worth residents who host their first guests by July 31 will be eligible for the reward, which is in addition to any money they would make from hosting.

According to a Deloitte study, DFW residents can earn up to an estimated $4,400 if they host during the 2026 World Cup.

How to sign up as an Airbnb host

To be eligible for the $750 reward, hosts:

• Must have no previous Airbnb listings earlier than Feb. 1, 2026. 
• Publish listing for an entire home in Dallas or Tarrant County. See full list of eligible zip codes here.
• Complete a reservation for the listing by July 31, 2026 of at least $100 or more (If guests cancel, eligibility is not valid). 
• One reward per host. 
• Airbnb hosts must follow these basic requirements when hosting.

To sign up as an Airbnb host:

• Log in or sign up for an Airbnb account.
• Provide information about your home– locations, number of beds, bathrooms, amenities, etc. 
• Add at least photos with descriptions. 
• Create a starting price. 
• Publish listing.
