Amazon bringing 600 tech and corporate jobs to Dallas
Amazon is bringing 600 more jobs to Dallas as it expands its Tech Hub in the city, the company announced Tuesday.
The new tech and corporate positions will be part of teams that support several businesses within Amazon including AWS, Retail and Amazon Devices, according to a press release announcing the hiring effort. The jobs are separate from the more than 130 tech and corporate roles already available in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
As part of this growth, Amazon will add more than 100,000 square feet to its offices in the Galleria Towers, according to the release.
Alberto Bayarena, the site lead for the Dallas Tech Hub, said in the release the company is drawn to the area because of “its highly-skilled workforce and culture of innovation.”
“We look forward to being a strong community partner as we continue to invest and grow here in Dallas/Fort Worth, helping to diversify the local economy and create more opportunity for its residents,” Bayarena said.

The expansion of the Dallas Tech Hub is part of the more than $16 billion in investments Amazon has made in Texas communities over the past decade, according to the release. Amazon has reportedly created around 43,000 jobs in that time.
Gov. Greg Abbott said in the release he “will continue to promote policies that remove barriers and incentivize further investment from the world’s top companies.”
Amazon is expanding several of its Tech Hubs across North America, including those in New York, Denver and San Diego, according to the release. The company is planning to add a total of 3,500 new jobs.
In September 2019, Amazon announced it would open a hub for air delivery in Fort Worth, creating 300 jobs.
