In Fort Worth, this is a labor crisis: Angelo’s Barbecue can’t find enough help

Angelo’s BBQ ends weeknight dinner

Hey, Bud! I hear Angelo’s stops serving at dinner?

—Another barbecue guy

Angelo’s Barbecue, 2533 White Settlement Road, the original legend of Fort Worth barbecue since 1958, is short on help and stays open nights only Thursdays through Saturdays for now, owner Jason George says.

The beer and barbecue stop at 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays but still flow till 9 p.m. weekends.

Diners at Angelo’s, which opened in 1958, are met wth the news that the beer and barbecue end at 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays.

Greek festivals near in Euless, Fort Worth

Hey, Bud! When are those Greek food festivals?

—Ready for fall

Can’t believe it’s barely September and somebody asked about Greek fall food festivals.

The Mid-Cities festival, 303 Cullum Drive, is Oct. 14-16. The Fort Worth festival, 2020 N.W. 21st St., is Nov. 11-13.

(Next somebody will ask where to take the family on Thanksgiving or for Christmas brunch.)

Where for fried whole belly clams?

Hey, Bud! I grew up in Massachusetts eating fried whole belly clams. Do you know any place that would have the real thing?

—Bob, from Massachusetts

Chef Marc Cassel serves them at 20 Feet Seafood in Dallas, but that closed during COVID and has not come back to the surface. That’s all I can find.
