Dog park and restaurant closes all DFW locations, including one in Clearfork

MUTTS Canine Cantina announced Monday, June 29 on its website and social media pages that it is permanently closed.

MUTTS was a dog park paired with a bar that served cocktails, wine, beer and bites for dogs and humans. Anyone could bring their dog to the off-leash park for an admission fee or with a monthly membership.

The Fort Worth location opened in 2018 at 5317 Clearfork Main St. In addition to the Clearfork restaurant, the Dallas and Allen locations also permanently shut down.

Those with MUTTS memberships were notified of cancellation via email Monday morning. Those with month-to-month will have no future charges. For those with an annual plan, the MUTTS team will calculate any remaining unused time and issue a prorated refund to your form of payment within 30 days.

The dog park and bar is owned by Free Range Concepts, which also operates the Dallas-based Joe Leo Fine Tex-Mex and The Rustic restaurants — both of which have dog-friendly patios. Neither MUTTS nor Free Range Concepts has commented on why the restaurants closed.

However, the MUTTS team did tell the Star-Telegram: “After nearly 15 years, we’ve had a great run with MUTTS in Dallas and Fort Worth, and it’s time to shift our focus to our other brands. We still own the MUTTS name and don’t know what’s next for it — but today we’re simply grateful. Thank you to our team, our guests, and every dog who made it special.”
