Wastewater backup found at restaurant in latest Fort Worth health inspections

Two Fort Worth restaurants were closed and roaches were found at seven others in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection reports.

The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain data from April 12 through April 25 and the results of 183 inspections.

Fort Worth’s health inspections function on a demerit system. When the total of demerits exceeds 30, the restaurant must take immediate action to fix the worst violations and has 48 hours to fix the rest.

Two restaurants were closed for serious health violations:

  • Super Food Mart, located at 1525 E. Berry St., had a score of 16. The restaurant was closed due to a wastewater backup underneath the sinks, as well as no available hot water service in the building.
  • K-Town Hot Dogs, located at 4940 Overton Ridge Blvd., had a score of 8. The facility was voluntarily closed due to issues with roaches, and employees were treating the issue when inspectors arrived.

Issues with roaches were noted at seven establishments:

  • Reservoir Restaurant, located at 1001 Foch St., had a score of 21. Inspectors found a small dead roach near a handwashing sink.
  • Spring Creek Barbeque, located at 13125 South Freeway near Burleson, had a score of 17. Roaches were found in the dishwashing area, on the walls, and in handwashing sinks.
  • Golden Chick, located at 5701 Craig St., had a score of 12.
  • Salsa Limon Centro, located at 550 Throckmorton St., had a score of 11.
  • K-Town Hot Dogs, located at 4940 Overton Ridge Blvd., had a score of 8.
  • Sprouts Academy West, located at 11801 Camp Bowie West Blvd. near Aledo, had a score of 7. Dead roaches were found in a kitchen cabinet.
  • Super Kids Day Care, located at 7383 S. Hulen St., had a score of 3.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Fort Worth for April 12th - April 25th, 2026. Scores are based on a demerit system. When the total exceeds 30, the restaurant must take immediate corrective action on all identified critical violations, then has 48 hours to initiate corrective action on all other violations.
