Two Dallas restaurants fail; roaches found in latest city health inspections

Two Dallas restaurants failed inspection and roaches were observed at other locations in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.

The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from April 12 through April 25 and 323 inspections.

Dallas’ health inspections function on a 100-point scale. A score of 100 is considered perfect, and any score below 70 is considered failing, requiring re-inspection within 10 days.

Two food establishments failed inspection:

  • Cris And John Viet-Mex Street Food, 6090 Campbell Road, had a score of 65.
  • La Michoacana Meat Market, 2420 N. Fitzhugh Ave., had a score of 69.

A citation was issued to one establishment: Migalitos Supermercado #1, 1050 S. Belt Line Road, had a score of 95. The store was cited for lacking sanitizer, which caused utensils to go unsanitized for two to three days, according to the report.

Roaches were observed at seven establishments:

  • La Hacienda Ranch, 17390 Preston Road, had a score of 80. Inspectors observed a roach crawling on the kitchen grill.
  • Ana’s Restaurant Comida Mexicana LLC, 4626 Maple Ave., had a score of 81. Live roaches were found on a sticky trap.
  • Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill, 6464 E. Northwest Highway, had a score of 81. Inspectors found a dead roach near a trap on the service sink.
  • South Side Chicken Wings And Grits, 3518 Spring Ave., had a score of 83. Dead roaches were found on a sticky trap.
  • El Regio, 315 E. Jefferson Blvd., had a score of 87. Inspectors noted a small roach on the premises.
  • Los Garcia’s Restaurant, 10788 Harry Hines Blvd., had a score of 87.
  • Payless Fuel Center, 8015 C.F. Hawn Freeway, had a score of 97.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Dallas for April 12th - April 25th, 2026. A score of 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered to be extremely poor. Scores below 80 require a re-inspection, and below 60 require closure and inspection before reopening.
