Order just like ‘Yellowstone’ creator Taylor Sheridan at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse

Want to eat like Taylor Sheridan for a night? It will cost you.

The Texas resident and creator of the Yellowstone universe often dines at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse at 2458 N Main St. in the Stockyards.

Sheridan took ownership of the steakhouse in 2022 along with 101 Studios CEO David Glasser and businessman Dan Schryer. Together, they conducted $2.9 million worth of renovations at the restaurant. They updated the nearly 21,000-square-foot bar, dining and event spaces, along with an outdoor patio and live music stage. “The Cattlemen’s Club” is a private-members only concept in the steakhouse’s basement. Membership starts at $4,000.

In a recent interview with Woman’s World magazine, Cattlemen’s new executive chef, Theodore Tom, shared exactly how Sheridan likes to spend his time at the steakhouse.

Tom was previously the chef at Wynn resort kitchen in Las Vegas. Sheridan also had a short-lived pop-up restaurant at the Vegas resort called Four Sixes Ranch Steakhouse. Tom became Cattlemen’s executive chef last May.

Taylor Sheridan’s Cattlemen’s order

Tom said that Sheridan’s go-to order is the 32-ounce dry-aged Tomahawk Chop, paired with a bottle of red wine. This prime steak goes for $165. And yes, it is the most expensive steak on the menu.

“He always wants it,” Tom told Woman’s World. “It gets a nice glaze and smoky aroma… that’s his go-to, along with a very nice bottle of red wine.”

A few of the steak choices on the Cattlemen’s menu are from cattle raised on Sheridan’s Bosque and 6666 Ranches (Four Sixes Ranch).

Bosque Ranch is a 600-acre ranch in Weatherford that is home to equestrian events, production for “Yellowstone,” “Lioness” and “Lawmen: Bass Reeves.” It also hosts an annual music festival known as Bosque Ranch Live. According to Cattlemen’s menu, the Tomahawk Chop is sourced from Bosque Ranch.

6666 Ranch is located in Guthrie, in west Texas. This 260,000-acre ranch is dedicated to raising American Quarter Horses and Angus cattle. Founded by Samual “Burk” Burnett in 1870, the Burnett family operated the ranch for decades until 2022, when Sheridan bought it for $320 million. It still operates in the same way that the Burnett family intended it to, and is the ninth-largest ranch in Texas.
