West 7th will have its fill of Guinness and corned beef at last

The West 7th Entertainment District will be complete again with a new Irish pub.

Henry McCarty’s Irish Pub is coming to 2869 Crockett St., a large corner space with a wraparound patio at the circle intersection with Currie Street. The 2869 space has been vacant since 2020, when the previous tenant, Cork & Pig Tavern, closed during COVID-19.

In fact, Irish pubs in the West 7th Entertainment District also have not stuck since the pandemic.

In 2020, the Trinity College Irish Pub opened at the corner of Currie Street and Morton Street and closed briefly during the pandemic. Then, in late 2023 it moved next door, before closing permanently in spring of 2025.

Henry McCarty’s will be the dose of corned beef that West 7th desperately needs. Here’s what we know about the new digs.

Henry McCarty’s Irish Pub in West 7th

Henry McCarty’s Irish Pub is named after the Irish roots of Billy the Kid, a 19th century American outlaw from New York. According to a press release, McCarty spent his later years under an alias in the small North Texas town of Hico.

Located in the West 7th Entertainment District, guests can swing by the pub for dinner, a night cap or before a mini golf game. Customers receive two hours of validated parking in Crockett Street lots.

The pub will mainly serve Irish meals with European beers, but there will also be Texas whiskeys.
