Popular barbecue restaurant to open fifth location in North Texas. Here’s when

A popular local barbecue joint is opening its fifth location in North Texas next year.

Hurtado Barbecue announced via social media last week that its newest restaurant will open in Argyle sometime next spring. While no concrete address was shared, the new spot will be located off U.S. Route 377 and Farm to Market Road 407.

The Argyle location is near and dear to pitmaster Brandon Hurtado and his family.

“After years of raising our family in Argyle, coaching sports here and delivering food to friends and family nearby, we’ve finally been blessed with the opportunity to open our FIFTH Hurtado Barbecue location in the heart of Argyle,” the post read.

Hurtado Barbecue opens fifth location

Hurtado started in 2018 with pop-ups serving brisket tacos, then opened his downtown Arlington restaurant (205 E. Front St.) in February 2020.

Around two years later, Hurtado opened its Fort Worth location (1116 Eighth Ave.). The Mansfield (226 N. Walnut Creek Drive) and Dallas locations (900 S Harwood St.) would come a couple of years later.

In addition to its permanent locations, Hurtado has a stand inside Globe Life Field that stays plenty busy during Texas Rangers home games. The barbecue joint also has a food truck located outside Oak Highlands Brewery in Richardson (500 Lockwood Drive.).

Hurtado is known for its traditional barbecue brisket and ribs and also for birria tacos and “Mexi-cue.”
