Keith Lee left a rare negative review for these Dallas tacos

Keith Lee, a food influencer with 17.2 million followers, recently left a bad review for some gas station food in North Texas.

It’s a rare occurrence for Lee to leave a negative comment. He’s amassed a grand following because of his positive reviews of smaller mom and pop restaurants. In fact, his reviews can be so good, lines overcrowd the restaurant the day after he posts on social media.

However, the tacos he had at a Fuel City in Dallas were simply not up to Lee’s tastebud’s standards.

“I will say, my wife is from California, so I’m spoiled when it comes to tacos,” Lee closed his video saying. “I’ve seen the debate, people have been talking about Texas or California when it comes to Mexican food — California all the way.”

Here’s what Lee ordered and what he had to say about the tacos he’s heard are “apparently some of the best tacos, if not the best tacos in the whole city of Dallas.”

Keith Lee’s Fuel City tacos review

Fuel City is a gas station with multiple locations around DFW. Lee visited the 801 S. Riverfront Blvd. location under I-35 in Dallas.

Lee always reviews on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. He ordered $25 worth of food.

  • Chicken taco: 5/10. Lee inserted a video that said he’s trying to find the words to be nice. “In my opinion, it’s not a bad taco,” he said. But he also noted the main flavor you could taste was the lime rather than the chicken or spice.
  • El Pastor taco: 3/10. “The salt is all I can taste,” he noted. On a positive note, Lee did say the meat had a good char.
  • Picadillo taco: 3/10. “Did they season the beef?” Lee asked after taking his first bite. He noted salt again which made him “not a fan.”
  • Elote cup: 0/10. Lee said this elote has sour cream instead of mayo, like traditional elote. And this ingredient switch up did not do it for him. After taking his first bite, he simply said, “No. Absolutely not.”

Lee also bought an El Pastor quesadilla, however after trying the three tacos and elote, he said, “I’m done for the day.”
