Inspectors found mold at this Arlington restaurant during latest health checks
One Arlington restaurant was closed and four others will undergo reinspection after scoring low in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection reports.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data and violations from June 29 through July 5 and the results of 69 inspections.
Arlington’s restaurant inspections function on a 100-point system: A score of 100 is considered to be perfect and a score of 70 is considered to be extremely poor.
Andalous, located at 457 East Interstate Highway 20, had a score of 73. The restaurant was temporarily closed by the city for multiple serious health violations, including a malfunctioning refrigerator and freezer, mold growth and food buildup on kitchen equipment. The restaurant was later reopened by the city on July 2 after a follow-up inspection found the issues had been corrected, a city spokesperson said.
Three other restaurants had low scores:
- ABC Seafood Restaurant, located at 2420 East Arkansas Lane, had a score of 71
- Phi Coffee & Tea, located at 2430 East Pioneer Parkway, had a score of 72
- Nagoya Japanese Restaurant, located at 1155 West Arbrook Boulevard, had a score of 75
Twenty-eight follow-up inspections were conducted over the inspection period.
