Two Haltom City restaurants cited for roaches in recent health inspections
Two Haltom City restaurants were cited for dead and live roaches inside their establishments in recent health inspections.
From June 12-18, 74 restaurants underwent health inspections in Tarrant County, except for those located in Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless and North Richland Hills, which conduct their own. No restaurant was shut down for serious health violations nor scored over 29 demerits, which would require a followup.
However, Cuong Phuoc Truong Co, located at 4045 E. Belknap St. in Haltom City, was cited after inspectors saw approximately a dozen dead and live roaches in the food handling area. Cuong Phuoc Truong Co scored a 16.
Another Haltom City restaurant, Bangkok Cuisine, located at 4613 Denton Hwy, scored a 19. The restaurant was cited after inspectors saw approximately six live roaches around the food handling area. The food establishment also had a repeat violation for improper use of a hand washing sink to store food utensils.
Neither Cuong Phuoc Truong Co nor Bangkok Cuisine had the worst score of the 74 inspections.
Love Donuts, located at 8600 W I-30 in White Settlement, had the highest demerits with 23. Violations included organic matter inside the ice machine; multiple boxes, soda containers and food bins stored directly on the floor; and dirty floors in the kitchen area.
And although no restaurant was required to shut down, Maggiano’s Little Italy, inside DFW Airport (Terminal C17), self-closed to deal with refrigeration problems. The Italian restaurant scored a 16.
