Domino’s Pizza in Fort Worth closed for rodent feces found in food during inspection
Fort Worth health inspectors shut down a local Domino’s Pizza for having rodent feces in food and on surfaces during recent restaurant inspections, according to city data compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Out of the 34 inspections conducted from June 12 through June 18, no restaurant scored over 30 demerits, which would’ve required establishments to fix the worst problems immediately and the rest within 48 hours.
The Domino’s Pizza located at 7630 N. Beach St., Suite 150, scored 7 demerits but was temporarily closed because of serious health violations.
Inspectors found evidence of rodents and “the presence of rodent droppings in food and on surfaces,” according to city data.
All restaurant surfaces needed to be cleaned and sanitized, according to the inspection notes.
Inspectors required the restaurant to be closed to the public until appropriate corrective actions were completed.
The pizza restaurant was open as of Tuesday.
La Nueva de Zacatecas, located at 831 N. Sylvania Ave., received the highest demerit score with 26 violations.
The restaurant was cited for not properly washing utensils, for having live flies inside and for not having running cold water at the hand sink station in the food prep area.
A MOD Pizza located at 9605 Ten Gallon Drive near Chisholm Trail Parkway scored 24 demerits, including for having excessive flies in the back prep area. Inspectors required the issues to be resolved within 24 hours.
A Wingstop located at 2723 Eighth Ave. scored 20 demerits. The restaurant was cited for food contact surfaces not being sanitized and for having live and dead flies in the establishment.
No restaurants underwent followup inspections.
