Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Frisco King’ filming to close streets in downtown Fort Worth
Taylor Sheridan’s “Frisco King” is closing down streets in downtown Fort Worth this week for filming.
Streets in downtown Fort Worth will be impacted by filming on Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, according to Downtown Fort Worth, Inc.
Here’s what to know.
‘Frisco King’ to close streets for filming
Filming will take place in the 100 block of East Fourth Street, which is directly next to Sundance Square.
Closures will be from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday, May 23. The production will also close streets for equipment vehicle parking on Thursday and Friday at the following:
- Fourth Street between Commerce and Houston streets
- Main Street from 505 Main St. to Fourth Street
A filming permit, filed with the city on May 12, states “Frisco King” will film at 149 E. Fourth St. on Thursday and Friday.
The address corresponds to the Land Title building, which was constructed in 1889 and originally housed the Land Mortgage Bank. The building landed a Texas historical marker in 1979.
More on ‘Frisco King’
The Paramount+ series began production in Cowtown in late March. Previously titled “NOLA King,” the series was originally supposed to be set and made in New Orleans, but is now a North Texas production.
“Frisco King” stars Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hitman who crossed paths with Sylvester Stallone’s “Tulsa King” character Dwight Manfredi. Jackson appeared in the final two episodes of the show’s third season last year.
Sheridan is writing every episode of “Frisco King” himself.
The show is expected to be another “fish out of water” story with Jackson’s character living and working in a city far from his New Orleans beginnings. This is the same premise for “Tulsa King,” which sees Stallone’s New York City character adjust to life in Tulsa, Okla.
“Frisco King” will film in Fort Worth, Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Keller, Denton and Southlake through July. In addition to Jackson and Stallone, “Frisco King” will star Kai Caster, Asa Germann, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann.
No release date has been set for the series.
